The Mundane

On bus on a motorway.
Over cast grey skies.
A landscape devoid of interest.
All mundanity.

There is something to be said for the mundane. By photographing or paintingthe mundane it suddenly becomes not mundane anymore. It is then special; it is chosen. It is now unique and singular.
That website where people take pictures of their everyday lives, the mundanity of routine: a kitchen, a toothbrush in a bathroom. But other people's mundanity is our exoctic. A petrol station in Russia is fascinating.
